This is so different. I've never seen an interview conducted on Twitter before. It was pretty dope to see taking place. Kudos to Bossip for making that happen, I hope they realize now that they've probably started something that's going to become a norm for a new way to utilize Twitter.
Anyhoo, here's the interview... good stuff considering they usually go IN on people. I think Im a fan again... who knows. It's still too soon to tell. lol

Bossip - Dawn will this be your 1st time doing idol? Are you a fan of the show?
Dawn - This is my second time performing on Idol… Ironically enough I tried out for idol twice… and they said my voice was too different. Now I’ll be on the stage for a second time… God is good you know… It’s just goes to show u… Never give up even when rejected.
Bossip - Too different?? Wait, how long before MTB was that? And was that the 1st time you’d heard that about your voice?
Dawn - It was before making the band, two years before. I think my voice was just unique to them. I had heard that about my voice before. I don’t think they meant it harshly. I just wasn’t what they were looking for. But it was hard for me cause I thought my voice was ugly
Bossip - Do you remember who the first thing/conversation you had after that that motivated you to continue chasing your dream?
Dawn - My father encouraged me that it was a signature and if I worked hard someday people would understand it. I had a conversation with God… When I went home that night I promised myself I wouldn’t let that “NO” stop me. 1 year later MTB3Auditions were being held. I told my parents I was auditioning. They thought it was dumb to keep trying risking rejection again. So with 200 dollars, I went to audition. I stayed in the nastiest roach motel. Walked 8 blocks to the audition each day and made it.
Bossip - WOW! That is QUITE the story!!!
Dawn - I mean it’s life.. Everybody goes through something…
Bossip - Was that moment you taped in Paris the most surreal of your career?
Dawn - Most surreal moment was vocal producing and vibing with the amazing Grace Jones … That is unbelievable to me. She is a legend
Bossip - We know you have to run in a bit. Tell us about the inspiration behind #ATellTaleHeart
Dawn -I wanted to personally invite people into my heart. People here the mixtape and say it’s about love but it’s so much more. The past 5 years have been a whirlwind. And I wanted to share that journey. Some of the records aren’t between a man and a woman. For example, “Me Myself and Y” was between me and music. This was at a point when I was debating whether I still wanted to do this music Sh*t. Let Love in was written because I lost love and even though love was wrong, I needed to forgive. I had to swallow my pride and say what love would say if it wanted a second chance. These were the situations I had gone through and wanted to share. The mixtape was the fall into my heart. The album is the “Long walk”…so it will be deeper and more raw both musically and sonically. I’m gonna start off from “Bulletproof” so it will feel like u never left my heart
Bossip - Is there really a reality show in the works for you?
Dawn - No reality show right now. Between tour, album, mixtape it’s more than enough lol. But I never rule anything out. xo
Bossip - We dig that. THANK U SO MUCH for an awesome chat! See we’re not always mean! It’s all in good fun We ♥ u & That Dirty Money
Dawn - Thank you! And I hope this gives me a little bit of a better standing with yall lol…
